.:INTRODUCTION:.
Tropical Light: Art Photography by Julián Monge-Nájera (University of Costa Rica), is a website about art nudes, figure, portraits, tropical sceneries and tropical nature photography. The site has four black and white galleries (you can also visit its sister website Tropical Beauty, which has color art photography of art nudes, portraits and tropical nature).
The portraits concentrate on the personalities of people from varied age and ethnic groups. The nudes section deals respectfully and artistically on the female figure. The scenery galleries are classified in two sections, inland and shore sceneries of Neotropical ecosystems. The nature section presents scientifically organized images of Latin American animals, plants and other organisms.
The essay section will probably grow in the future, but currently it only has one essay titled What separates the masters from the average photographers: critics and art in photography. It presents a critical, yet understanding, view of the subjectivity of art critics and the varying social perception of value in art.
The site also has standard sections such as answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), Visitors' comments and updated Links on art photography.
